This article contributes to the analysis of the development of the rebellion initiated by José Gabriel Túpac Amaru, whose effects were felt in the highlands of Arica and neighboring towns between 1780 and 1783. It also focuses on identifying and understanding the ideological conceptions, controversies, and subjectivities that emerged in the years leading up to the uprising, particularly within the realms of imaginaries, the exercise of power, and Bourbon and indigenous politics at the end of the 18th century.
