Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

2.3.10. DIRECT QUOTATIONS (ACCORDING TO APA 7TH EDITION)

Direct quotations faithfully reproduce the words of a source and must include the author's last name, year, and page number.

  1. a) Quotations of less than 40 words

Quotations of less than 40 words are integrated into the body of the text, enclosed in double quotation marks, without italics. The period is placed after the parentheses containing the quotation.

Example: Sites with these characteristics have been defined as “fortified settlements” (Guevara et al., 1988, p. 23) due to their architectural features.

Additional rules:

  • Use single quotation marks only within a quotation that is already in double quotation marks.
  • If part of the text is omitted, indicate this with […].
  • Square brackets are used to add clarifications, translations, or emphasis.
  1. b) Quotations of 40 words or more

These are presented in a separate block, without quotation marks, with a left indent of 1.27 cm and double spacing. The period precedes the data in parentheses.

Example:

The authors describe the site as follows:

A settlement located on the upper part of the hillside. It consists of 106 stone structures built on platforms, including storage and residential structures. A double perimeter wall surrounds the settlement. From this strategic location, it is possible to have complete visibility of the valley.

(Guevara et al., 1988, pp. 24–25)
