Abstract

This article is part of the project “Interculturality and Digitalization: Dynamic Approaches to Marketing Misak Women’s Agricultural Products.” Its purpose is descriptive and interpretive, and it addresses, from different perspectives and historical, cultural, social, economic, and political aspects of the Misak community, the role of women and their contributions within the framework of possible Indigenous feminisms.

As part of a mixed-method research approach, qualitative data collection was prioritized through interviews, focus groups, and bibliographic reviews. Based on the information obtained, behaviors, ways of life, and values of the Misak community are identified, as well as an approach to women’s work, their role in tradition, and their contribution to Buen Vivir (Well Living).

The conclusions highlight women’s participation in various events and the challenges they face due to cultural resistance to their roles. The article argues that, despite cultural resistance and limited opportunities, Misak women’s increasing participation challenges traditional paradigms. It calls for not just formal acknowledgments but concrete empowerment, proposing the recognition and strengthening of Misak women’s transformative agency across diverse spheres.
